Shakespeare alive–KS2
- Macbeth
- Romeo and Juliet
- Midsummer Night's Dream
These workshops can be used as an introduction to the play or topic or an introduction to the text. They aim to use the text in conjunction with games, drama exercises and modern interpretations to clarify the complexities of language and verse in the creation of an experience which is enjoyable and accessible to all.
How do they work?
Two of our professionally trained actors visit your school and for two hours facilitate a participatory drama workshop with up to 40 children per workshop. The children and the actors use a variety of props, costumes and music to create the world of the play. Once this atmosphere has been created through drama techniques, role play, script and improvisation work the children will experience the journeys of the characters, Shakespeare’s language and poetry, the historical background to the play and bring the play to life.
Cost
A full day of two workshops with up to 80 pupils £285
A half day of one workshop with up to 40 pupils £180
A travel fee is payable and dependent on distance from our base in Oxted.
