Swimming lessons
At Tandridge Leisure we provide a very successful programme of Swimming Lessons held at de Stafford Sports Centre or Tandridge Leisure Centre. From toddlers to adults we have a class to suit all needs.
Water Babies:
Water Babies are available for children aged 5 months - 5 years.
Classes are designed to introduce parent and child to the water environment, using play and song. Children will gain water confidence throughout the course. A parent / guardian is required to be in the water at all times.
Junior Watersafe:
For children aged 4 years, who are confident to enter the pool unaided by an adult. The programme's main aim is water safety. In any of our classes, pupils will progress through the mian swimming strokes, enabling them to become more confident in the water. These classes follow the ASA awards scheme, enabling children to work through all water saftey skills.
Classes available:
Non Swimmers / Beginner 1 / Beginner 2 / Improver 1 / Improver 2 / Advance 1 / Challenge 1 & 2 / Challenge br / sl / gld / Elite
Adult Watersafe:
These lessons are available to people aged 16 years and over. If you have never swum before and would like to learn how to swim, or can swim but would like to brush up on your strokes, Watersafe offers classes for you. All classes are taught by qualified swimming instructors who will recognise individual needs and will work on them through gentle practices.
Rookie Lifeguarding courses:
Classes are available to children over 10 years of age. This is an hour's session which involves lifesaving skills. Pupils will be shown how to look after themselves and others in and around the water. Pupils need to be confident in the water and be able to swim efficiently.
Rookie classes lead on to the Bronze Medallion certificate, which is recognised as the flagship award for lifesaving. Bronze medallion can be achieved by any swimmer over the age of 13 years.
