Dance for Fitness
Tandridge Leisure recognises that dance is an excellent and fun way to promote and encourage people to take part in fitness activities. Dance is a proven form of exercise that improves stamina, posture, strengthens muscle groups, improves flexibility and challenges the body and mind.
Our dance for fitness programme includes Urban Grooves a street dance class for teenagers, Latin Rhythms, Dance Beats and Urban Funk for adults and much more.
Dance Opportunities
Tandridge Leisure believes in creating dance opportunities for all within our facilities and as part of outreach community dance projects. Dance Artists regularly visit local schools delivering quality dance workshops both of an educational and creative nature. The dance programme is always expanding keeping up to date with current dance trends.
Tandridge Leisure will benefit from Big Lottery funds to develop an intergenerational dance project called ‘Tea Time to Dance’. Tandridge Leisure will work in partnership with art partners to make the project a success. The project will focus on uniting the older generation with the younger generation through dance and visual arts.
Tandridge Leisure also provides many opportunities for local dance artists to work as part of our dance and arts team teaching classes and delivering dance projects.
If you are a dance artist interested in working with us or wish to discuss a dance project idea then please contact the Dance Development Officer on 01883 320008.
