Imagine Dance is our creative dance programme for children 6 years and under. Imagine Dance explores different dance techniques and styles and gives children the freedom to develop their own ideas and creativity. As well as challenging their bodies and minds they are encouraged to grow in confidence and develop their social skills.

Osmosis began in 2000 and has successfully developed into a programme of three classes Osmosis Beginners, Juniors and Seniors and is now recognised across Surrey as an established Youth Dance Co.

Visual Arts & Media

Tandridge Leisure supports Surrey Artists Open Studios and encourages anyone with an interest in visual arts to log on to www.surreyopenstudios.org.uk and find out more about our artists in Tandridge and find out when their studios are open.

Live and Direct Youth Music

Live and Direct is a programme of weekly rock and pop music workshops for teenagers aged 11-15 years.  These sessions take place at The Orpheus Centre in Godstone, who work with us to provide instruments and recording equipment for the young people taking part.  The project is funded through Arts Partnership Surrey and Youth Music Foundation.  We are able to deliver this project through the support of Surrey Youth Development Services and Surrey Music.  Over 40 young people have now been involved with this project.

The young people have now orgnised themselves into several bands and have performed at local venues and are now working towards 'Euphonic ' a Surrey-wide youth festival which will take place in September 2008.  Evaluation of this project demonstrates how it has had a positive effect in developing self-esteem amongst the young people involved.  We are now looking to match it with a new arts award scheme which would offer those taking part a skills-based certificate in music.

Osmosis classes are led by professional dance artists and students work within a dance company environment working towards dance performance events, learning new choreography with the opportunity to develop their own creative work.  Osmosis Dance is frequently asked to perform with Enigma Dance, Surrey County Dance and at the Epsom Playhouse. Osmosis has also performed at the Caterham and Oxted carnival and have been part of many site specific dance works and dance for film projects.

Dance Opportunities

Tandridge Leisure believes in creating dance opportunities for all within our facilities and as part of outreach community dance projects. Dance Artists regularly visit local schools delivering quality dance workshops both of an educational and creative nature.  The dance programme is always expanding keeping up to date with current dance trends.

Tandridge Leisure will benefit from Big Lottery funds to develop an intergenerational dance project called ‘Tea Time to Dance’. Tandridge Leisure will work in partnership with art partners to make the project a success. The project will focus on uniting the older generation with the younger generation through dance and visual arts.
Tandridge Leisure also provides many opportunities for local dance artists to work as part of our dance and arts team teaching classes and delivering dance projects.
